Meet the Team

Dan Fitzgerald

Winemaker, Partner

There is a new generation of talented winemakers emerging in California, and Dan Fitzgerald is one to watch.  A Northern California native, Dan lived in Europe for 13 years, which helps explain his keen interest in both Old and New World winemaking techniques.

Dan’s winemaking career began in 2002, just a few miles from Brack Mountain's Enos Vineyards, working harvest in the Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma County. Not content to wait until the next California harvest, Dan worked two hemispheres for 3 years; doing back-to-back harvests at Coldstream Hills in the Yarra Valley of Australia, Robert Sinskey Vineyards in Napa Valley, then back down under to Coldstream Hills as a leader for the 2004 vintage team. With four harvests under his belt, Dan enrolled in one of the premier Enology programs in the US, at CSU Fresno, graduating in 2007.

Dan worked at Williams-Selyem for the 2007 harvest and joined Pellegrini Family Vineyards, where he was head winemaker until coming to Brack Mountain Wine Company as a Partner to lead the winemaking.

Dan currently lives Healdsburg with his wife Barbara.

John Harley

Winemaker

Family and friends are not only important to John Harley, they are his inspiration to make wine, helping him to become one of the most talented young winemakers in the state. From Visalia, California, he is the youngest of 4 siblings, which includes his brother and two sisters. In 2003 John set his sights on a CSU Fresno Enology degree, taking a brief hiatus to work harvest in 2005 at Wild Horse Winery. John headed to Europe the summer of 2008, to study at Changins University of Enology and Viticulture in Nyon, Switzerland -- meeting and learning from Old World winemakers was life-changing.

After graduating in 2008 John worked as Assistant Winemaker at the prestigious Donum Estate, helping produce a string of high scoring Pinot Noirs. In 2010 he became Assistant Winemaker for Arcana, LLC, a startup Wine Company and was named Winemaker in 2011.

John’s approach to life reflects his hands-off style of winemaking. Allowing the vineyard’s voice to be heard is his top priority. When he isn’t working, he enjoys discovering what Sonoma County has to offer with his new fiancé, Kirsti. If you can’t find him scouting new vineyards with her, then try looking at your nearest golf course. He won’t be far away.

Jason Enos

Founder

Jason Enos, owner of Brack Mountain Wine Company and Enos Vineyards, is a native of California, and lives in one of California’s most important wine regions, the Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County.

Jason’s interest in wine spans his entire adult life. After studying enology at university, he launched into an entrepreneurial career in the food and restaurant business, working for Lee and Bob Bassian to help chefs in Northern California source the best ingredients for their cuisine. For more than 8 years he learned firsthand about the importance of pairing high quality, fresh ingredients with just the right wines. His work brought him in direct contact with the growers and vintners of California’s most fabled wine regions: Napa Valley, Sonoma, Mendocino and the Central Coast.

His career path ultimately led him into a successful career in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he helped transform a small startup technology company into an industry leader. Jason’s success in technology was a means to an end, opening the door to realizing his dream: To return to his roots in food and wine, and to produce outstanding wines from one of the great California AVA’s.

With the acquisition in 2004 of an 8-acre estate in the hills overlooking the Dry Creek Valley outside of Healdsburg, California, the dream was realized. With a heart for wine and food, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a mindset to innovate, Jason founded Brack Mountain Wine Company, a next-generation wine company serving restaurants & fine wine shops through a new and truly unique approach.

Jason lives in Healdsburg, California with wife Samantha, children Juliana & Matias, and dogs Sully and Boo.
